What is the input pressure and torque output range for each of the 1-4 clicks on the adjustment knob of the Alltrade Impact wrench?

Question:

Hello Carl. I received an Alltrade Impact wrench and ratchet set as a hand-me-down. Still functional, but they have older P/N's. The impact wrench is P/N 1806-A-141. It has an adjustable torque setting. Are you able to tell me the input pressure, as well as the resulting torque output range for each of the 1-4 clicks on the adjustment knob? The ratchet is P/N 1802-A-133, but I can do some testing to figure out its resulting torque using my 100lb hand-torque-wrench, but I figure the Impact wrench is beyond my ability to test it with my current hand tools. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Answer:

Hello Neil,
Use 90# pressure for both units. The impact, when new, developed 230# torque so we also had two different factories making them at that time. The following is the setting and resultant torque at that setting. You will be able to tell based on the speed so you may need to reverse my figures. All these are approximate based on tool condition and compressor output.

1. 120-140#
2. 155-170#
3. 185-200#
4. 210-230#

I forgot the air wrench that develops 50# @ 90PSI

Thanks for asking,

Carl
