How to properly use the 6-12-24v tester and the alligator clip extention on the 51 piece Trades Pro Electrical Tool set?

Question:

I just bought the (#836417)51 piece Alltrade (Trades Pro)Electrical Tool set for my husband and we were wondering if you can tell us how to properly use the 6-12-24v tester and the alligator clip extension? We don't want to get hurt.

Thanks for your help

Answer:

Hello Andrea,
As long as you do not try to connect it to any household electrical circuit, there should not be any problem. If you'll note, the 6V, 12V or 24V is DC or direct current, as used in automotive circuitry which does not provide any shock potential unless connected directly to the spark plug or coil circuits. This unit can be used to test the output on transformers used in low voltage applications such as; phone, or cell phone plug in transformers.

Thanks for asking,

Carl
