HVVLP line pressure for Shellac

Question:

What line pressure would you recommend for spraying Shellac with my Mastergrip HVLP Gravity Feed Spray Gun.

Answer:

Shellac is a very difficult medium to work with whether sprayed or brushed.  Since there is a wide variety of shellacs on the market, each manufacturer must determine the amount of thinning necessary and the required air pressure required for the best results.  Keep in mind that the more test spraying you do onto various substrates or surfaces the better your final result.  Also shellac can tend to bubble when sprayed improperly.  The more information you acquire from the manufacturer the better your result.  Sorry I can't be of more help.

Thanks for asking,

Carl
