Replacement parts for an Alltrade 12" variable speed band saw, built in 1988?

Question:

I have an Alltrade 12" variable speed band saw, built in 1988. I'd like to get a couple 1/4", 6-tooth blades for it. Can you direct me to a supplier in this area? Thanks
Vern

Answer:

Hi Vern, The 1999-B-12 uses a 56 1/2" blade and should be available at most hardware locations such as: Home Depot, Lowe's, Ace Hardware, and all the like. Now, in event you have problems getting a blade of your choosing, call one of the catalog houses such as Grizzly Industrial at 1-800-523-4777 and ask for model G6689 $11.95 each or, look for a blade converter which has blade material in great lengths and will cut and weld one for you.
I don't know if you've used this saw at all but, in event you have not, get back to me and I will give you some pointers on operation (that are not contained in the manual). Also, since I have your address, I'll send you a little pointer info about lubrication, which in your case, is critical to the longevity of the saw. Good luck and have lots of fun on your projects.

Thanks,

Carl
