kawasaki 21.6V 2-speed cordless drill

Carl, I bought the kawasaki 691220-1HR drill about 4 years ago. I have only used is about two times prior to today. Today I took it out of the case to use it and found that the rubber housing of the drill is deteriorating (completely sticky to the touch). Do you know of anything that can be done to correct the problem, and keep it from being sticky to the touch. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of the materials used to make this drill. A drill this young should not be deteriorating.

I advised using alcohol on the rubber housing.  Has this helped?
