Air Hammer

Question:

A few years ago I bought an air hammer and its chisel set, this is the first time that I use it, how much oil do I have to add in the air inlet, and how to messure it. Thanks
Answer:
Hello Alvaro-Sincer oil atomizes when the air is applied, about 5 or 6 drops should be sufficient. As for air pressure, use 90 lbs. When finished with the project, drops a few more drops in it and apply the air so the inside gets lubed before storing it away. If you do this each time you use the unit, it will always be ready because if not properly lubed, the internal workings will rust and when you wish to use it, it won't run. If this unit is new, it may be necessary to hit the side with a rubber mallet to get it running as the manufacturing oils are stiff and it may not operate properly.
Thanks for asking,
Carl
