Receiving expired coupons in the mail?

Hi, I just received my replacement battery charger as part of your recall program in June 2008. It included a letter of apology and a coupon to purchase Kawasaki tools on your website. Unfortunately, the coupon says that it expired last month. What's the deal?? Thanks for your response.
