Unclear instructions on loading a grease gun?

Question:

I have grease gun 654755. no grease comes out. instructions are unclear. assembly of plunger is unclear. where to load is unclear. i am using bulk grease. i put the grease in the tube. i reversed the rubber part as per instructions. when i push the lever nothing comes out.

Answer:

Hello Dean,
The unit you have is 648755, not the number you've given us. When loading from a bulk unit, you'll need to pull the handle all the way to the back of the barrel and cock it to one side to make sure the spring is to the rear of the barrel. The rubber seal forms a suction which pulls the grease into the barrel. Then, screw the head back on and release the handle. This allows the spring tension to push the grease to the front and into the orifice, ready to be forced into the coupler.

Thanks for asking,

Carl
