Can I combine both 110 outlets on my Kawasaki 1500 watt inverter to get 220 volts?

Question:

I have the Kawasaki 1500watt inverter. I would like to know if I can make a pigtail up using both 110 outlets to get 220 volts? Would this damage the inverter or a sump pump? Thank you, Dave

Answer:

Hello David,
Sorry to advise that you cannot do that. Both output AC voltages of the inverters have to be synched together and out of phase by 180 degree phase angle to be able to get twice the voltage. It also may damage the inverters and cause safety hazard.

Thanks for asking,

Carl
