If I use the appropriate step down transforme,r will the Mastergrip router still function correctly?

Question:

Hi,
I have a Mastergrip router (and table). I am moving to Ireland, Electrical AC 220V, 50Hz. If I use the appropriate step down transformer, will the router still function correctly (is the motor speed proportional to the electrical phase where the change from 60-50Hz will slow the router motor?

Thanks in advance,

Michael Ardiff

Answer:

Hello Michael,
Yes ,it's doable but what you will have to contend with is excess heat buildup which results in a safety problem as well as a shorter motor life.

Thanks for asking,

Carl
