With my 206 piece rotary tool & accessory set, the collets tends to be come very loose very quickly?

Question:

I've purchased the 206 piece rotary tool & accessory set. The collets tend to become very loose very quickly. It is hard to find them. Also, I've purchased a Dremel chuck which will hold the shaft as a drill holds a bit, however it doesn't fit. Do you have products like the Dremel Chuck instead of the collets? Thank you, Karen.

Answer:

Hello Karen,
I Understand your problem. When placing bits into the collet, you need to make sure the unit is properly tightened during use. If not properly snug, it will (in time) have a tendency to become loose, mainly due to the vibration as a result of the product rotation. As for a chuck: No, we do not have such an apparatus. Understand what we've done here is provided an inexpensive unit designed for the do-it-yourselfer and towards that end, have not attempted to provide an industrial unit to be a competitive product to Dremel. Dremel, while they are great, the costs of acquiring those products are out of the reach of many people who wish to tinker.

Thanks for asking,

Carl
