I cannot seem to fit the bleeder hose over any of the bleed valve nipples?

Question:

I purchased a POWERBUILT "One Man Brake Bleeder-Master Kit" #648591. I am in the process of doing brake work on both a '97 Ford Taurus, and on my '91 Ford Ranger. This involved bleeding the brakes, and I cannot seem to fit the bleeder hose over any of the bleed valve nipples of either these vehicles! It seems the hose in the kit is a couple millimeters too small in diameter to fit. Is there another kit I should have purchased, or a way to integrate a larger diameter hose so I can give this kit a try?

Thanks!

Answer:

Hello Dustin,
All you need to do is lubricate the end of the hose and also the nipple that it attaches to for easier insertion. They are made to provide a tight fit so the hose doesn't slip off when pressure is applied during depression of the brake pedal.

Thanks for asking,

Carl
