Is there a rebuild kit or replacement seals available for an Alltrade NASCAR 3 Ton Garage Floor Jack?

Question:

I have an Alltrade "NASCAR 3 Ton Garage Jack" (floor)model #550320-FH that will not rise all of the way and has a tiny amount of leakage. Is there a rebuild kit or replacement seals available? I have tried to purge the air ... no improvement. I would like to add fluid but I am not certain which screw to use, the booklet that came with the jack does not indicate where to add fluid. Is there an authorized repair facility near Sacramento, CA?

Answer:

Hello Nathan,
Please measure the diameter of your pump piston. This piston is the one actuated by the handle. There are two sizes, 10mm and 16mm to determine if we still have these available as your unit is 6 to 8 years old. The fill hole is covered by a dome shaped rubber plug in the center of the hydraulic cylinder and may be covered by a metal plate on which the model numbers and brand info appear. To remove the plug, grasp it with a pair of pliers and remove it. Next, stand the jack onto its rear wheels to determine the fluid level which, when filled, would be level with the bottom of the fill hole. Do not overfill. Your jack could also have another problem with a scratched internal cylinder which will render it totally inoperative. Don't forget your safety, and how much is a life worth.

Thanks for asking,

Carl
