2 gallon air compressor 830211

Question:

Hi My compressor can't go higher than 50-60 psi.It was working fine for the last 2-3 years.I emtied the water fromthe tank but no improvement.I don't feel or hear any air bleeding anywhere. What's the problem ?

Answer:

The problem could be the reed valve located in the head of the unit.  Remove the head and check the reed valve to see if it possibly is slightly off center, or you may want to turn it over and reassemble it to see if that is the problem.  Another possible cause could be the copper pipe running from the pressure regulator to the tank where it enters a brass valve.  This valve has a spring-loaded orifice that may be slightly clogged with some type of contaminant, which will require removal of the valve, cleaning it out and reassembly to see if that solves your problem.  Please keep me advised of the results.

Thanks for asking,
Carl
