What size compressor is recommended to run an air wrench?

Question:

My wife just bought me one of the Trades Pro air compressors, 4gallon,125psi max, for use in my home garage. My question, being new to air compressors, is this enough to reliably run an air wrench?

Answer:

Hello George,
Sorry to advise that a 4 gallon unit will not provide enough power to activate your air wrench. If your changing tires with impact wrench, you'll need a unit generating %CFM with 2.5 to 3HP and a tank of 25 to 30 gallon capacity.

Thanks for asking,

Carl
