Size drill bit

Question:
Greetings, I am trying to tap a hole for a 8-32 screw which calls for a #29 drill bit. What size is that in english please, so many 64ths etc? I cant find anyone around here that sells a 29. Also on the 40 pcs tap and die set that I purchased from you the T handle does not fit the smaller size taps. I'm confused.

Answer:

Hello Dick,

The drill bit you need is 9/64 for 60% thread, but for 75% thread you would need a #29 bit which only has a metric equivalent of 3.4mm.  With regards to the T handle I would need to know the model number of your set.

Thanks for asking,

Carl
