match compressor and spray gun

Question:
What compressor has the correct capacity (minimum psi and horsepower) for my Mastergrip HVLP gravity feed spray gun, model 691282?

Answer:

Your main concern would be a compressor that would provide sufficient air volume, such as a 25 or 30 gallon tank.  The more air volume you provide to your gun, the more spraying is allowed before the unit restarts to re-pressurize the tank.  One of the main reasons for a larger air volume is to prolong the engine since on smaller volume units it is possible in order to power your gun a compressor would run continuously to power the spray gun.  Be sure to do lots of test spraying on various substrates to get a better feel for the gun and be sure to do proper thinning of the pigments being sprayed.

Thanks for asking,

Carl
